Who the programme is for

The applicant must be a registered TNB consumer and meet the programme eligibility requirements. SEDA states that an applicant appoints a Registered PV Service Provider for submission through the eATAP system.

Domestic capacity limits

SEDA currently publishes an upper limit of 5 kW for single-phase domestic supply and 15 kW for three-phase domestic supply. These are programme limits, not a promise that the maximum is suitable or technically available for every roof.

The export arrangement is time-limited

The published Solar ATAP tenure is ten years from commencement of the contract. SEDA states that after this period the installation continues for self-consumption, without the programme offset and rollover arrangement for excess energy.

The practical sequence

The detailed workflow depends on capacity and technical requirements. At a high level, the property is assessed, the system is designed, required technical studies or confirmations are obtained, installation and commissioning are completed, and the application and metering steps proceed through the authorised channels.

  • Verify the TNB account and property details.
  • Use a provider currently appearing in the relevant SEDA directory.
  • Retain the itemised proposal, drawings, warranties and assumptions.
  • Confirm responsibility for application, meter and technical-study costs.
  • Keep the final contract, commissioning records and system access details.
